1) Lyons Park tennis, basketball courts closed for resurfacing
2) Portion of West 9th Street closed for the day due to water main leak

(Lawrence, Kan.) – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces the temporary closing of the tennis and basketball courts at Lyons Park for resurfacing.
Lyons Park, 700 North Lyon St, will be closing the tennis and basketball courts Friday through Sunday, July 16-18. Resurfacing will be conducted to maintain the courts at a customary level of care. The courts will reopen Monday, July 19.
The department has other courts available at Holcom Park, 2700 W. 27th St., and at Veterans Park, 1840 Louisiana St., the public can utilize during the closing.

(Lawrence, Kan.) – West 9th Street, from Wellington Road to Lawrence Avenue, will be closed today to complete work on a water main repair. The road must be closed to through traffic since the repair area is located within the street. No detours will be posted; flaggers will be in place to direct motorists around the construction site.
