Meeting to be held to discuss improvements to DeVictor Park
(Lawrence, Kan.) – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and the West Lawrence Neighborhood Association will hold a meeting to discuss improvements to DeVictor Park and other recreational facility needs in the area  6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Langston Hughes Elementary School, 1101 George Williams Way. The public is invited to attend.
DeVictor Park, which is located north of Bob Billings Parkway and George Williams Way and east of Langston Hughes Elementary School, has seen development of the trail and natural areas over the past few years.  It’s a 40-acre tract of land that was purchased by the City of Lawrence in 1997. Public meetings were held in 2004 to develop the park’s master plan, which outlined the development of the park in the future when financial resources were realized.  Comments were also taken via the department’s website.  The master plan for the park was presented to the Lawrence City Commission in May 2005.
Those unable to attend the public meeting who may have comments regarding improvements are encouraged to contact the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office at 832-3450 or by e-mail at parksrec@lawrenceks.org.
For questions regarding the public meetings, please contact the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office at (785) 832-3450.
