Charity Zumbathon event set for March 11
(Lawrence, Kan.) - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a charityZumbapartyto spread awareness and raise funds in support of a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The Zumbathon is scheduled 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.
Susan King and Pat Middaugh, Parks and Recreation staff instructors, will lead the Zumba workout, which is a dance fitness program focusing on a full-body, rhythmic interval and resistance training session.
There is a $10 fee with seventy-five percent of the proceeds going directly to ALS research.
