Egg hunts to be held this weekend
(Lawrence, Kan.) – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will once again have egg hunts for kids on land and in the water.
The annual Underwater Eggstravaganza at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, will begin at noon Saturday, April 7, with craftmaking followed by the egg hunt from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m.
Pre-registration is required for craftmaking, or you can pay the $5 fee the day of the hunt to participate in the egg hunt and swimming only. The event is open to children ages 2 years-old to 12 years-old.
The long-running Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza,, sponsored by Parks and Recreation and Hy-Vee, will once again be held in historic South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St., from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7. The event is free and open to children ages 3 years-old to 13 years-old. Children participating must check in prior to their search. Children may collect up to five eggs during the hunt. There will also be additional fun activities for children.
Registration is available for the Underwater Eggstravaganza online at www.lprd.org or at any LPRD facility, including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr.; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. or the Administrative Offices, 947 New Hampshire St., Suite 200B.
