Volunteers needed to assist with flower planting Saturday
(Lawrence, Kan.) - Spring has arrived and Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department has opportunities for the public to assist with flower planting in the heart of downtown Lawrence and in city parks.
This week 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 5, volunteers are asked to assist with planting flowers along Massachusetts Street in the mid-block and corner planters. The department is looking for 10 to 15 people to assist with the planting.
To volunteer, individuals may contact the Parks and Recreation administrative office (785) 832-3450 or sign up online at http://www.lawrenceks.org/lprd/flowerplanting. Other dates are also provided for individuals to volunteer on the webpage.
