Iowa Street reconstruction meeting to be held
(Lawrence, Kan.) – The City of Lawrence will hold an open house to discuss the Iowa Street Reconstruction Project on Thursday, June 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fire Station #5, 1911 Stewart Avenue (19th & Iowa).
The project is a complete reconstruction of Iowa Street from Irving Hill Overpass to south of Harvard Road. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and answer questions about the construction process on items such as access, duration, traffic control, safety and other issues. Residents or property owners affected by the construction are encouraged to attend.
The project is anticipated to begin in February 2013 and finish by the end of the year. Comments or questions can be directed to City Engineer David Cronin at (785) 832-3123 or dcronin@lawrenceks.org.
