Beginning Monday June 25 contractors will begin overlay operations from Monterey Way to Lawrence Avenue. From Lawrence Avenue to Iowa Street, contractors will continue curb and gutter and geometric improvement work. For the duration of the project, contractors will keep one lane in each direction available for motorists but delays are expected. Alternate routes include Bob Billings Parkway or 23rd Street. The entire project is due for completion by August 10. General working hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. When overlay operations begin, contractors may work earlier in the day.
Project: KDOT replacement of K-10/23rd Street Bridge between Haskell and Barker
Traffic Impact: Traffic on 23rd Street, between Barker and Haskell Avenues, has been shifted to utilize the shoofly detours on the north and south section of the roadway. Advance message boards will alert drivers to the lane closures. Drivers should expect major delays during peak travel times. Updated traffic information for the K-10/23rd Street bridge replacement project can be viewed online: www.ksdot.org/topekametro/laneclose.asp.

Access to private driveways will be maintained throughout construction.
BUS REROUTES
Constant Avenue
Road construction on Constant Avenue, on the west side of campus, has begun. This will affect Route 11 and Route 41, which will both be on a reroute to avoid the affected area. For assistance with trip planning, visit www.lawrencetransit.org or call (785) 864-4644. Construction is expected to last until August 1.
6th Street
Construction on 6th Street means that several bus stops may not be accessible. When outside lanes are blocked, the driver is not able to pull over to the curb to pick up or drop off passengers. Riders are advised to get on or off the bus at a stop that is before or after the construction zone.
