KDOT announces closures on Kansas River Bridge this week
(Lawrence, Kan.) - EXPECT DELAYS! Northbound and southbound US-40/US-59 will have varying lane closures over the Kansas River Bridge in Downtown Lawrence daily Tuesday and Thursday-Friday, July 3 and 5-6 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for expansion joint work.
The scheduled lane closures are as follows:
Tuesday, July 3: Northbound left lane over bridge
Wednesday, July 4: No work/no closures
Thursday, July 5: Southbound left lane over bridge
Friday, July 6: Southbound right lane over bridge
Drivers should allow extra time during their daily commutes or use alternate routes, if possible. Updated traffic information for this project can be viewed online: www.ksdot.org/topekametro/laneclose.asp.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone. Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, July 6.
