Ride the T free to the Sidewalk Sale
(Lawrence, Kan.) – Lawrence Transit System will waive fares on all fixed routes for the annual Downtown Lawrence Sidewalk Sale on Thursday, July 19. Routes 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10 and 11 travel downtown.
With regular service from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., the T can shuttle shoppers all day. Advantages of riding the T include reducing traffic congestion and eliminating worries about parking.
“The Sidewalk Sale is a great time to try the T,” said Robert Nugent, Transit Administrator. “On a day that brings so many people downtown, riding the bus can be a real convenience.”
The free ridership day presents an opportunity for first-time riders to try public transit. Bus drivers can help with transfers and explanation of timing points.
