(Lawrence, Kan.) - The City of Lawrence Waste Reduction and Recycling Division invites organizations and businesses to take part in the 12th Annual Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair on Saturday, September 22, 2012. The Energy Fair will be at Holcom Park Recreation Center located at 2700 W. 27th Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair provides an opportunity for energy efficiency and conservation organizations to reach the Lawrence market in a trade show setting. Past exhibitors include builders, architects, insulators, heating and cooling experts, government agencies, non-profits, and alternatively-fueled vehicle representatives.
SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION
• Sponsor at $1,000 and receive exhibit space, logo placement in all advertising, posters and a banner to be displayed at the Fair.
• Sponsor at $500 and receive exhibit space and logo or name placement in advertising and posters associated with the Fair.
Benefits of being a sponsor for this year’s Fair include advertising exposure as an environmentally conscious business or program and marketing your specifically tailored goods or services to Lawrence and neighboring community residents and businesses to educate them regarding your particular message or expertise.
Sponsor registration deadline is Monday, August 13, 2012.
EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
Cost: $100 if registration and payment occur on or before Monday, August 27th. After August 27th, there is a $125 registration fee. Fee is waived for 501c3 charitable organizations and government agencies. Fee is included in sponsorship levels.
All requests for exhibit space are filled on a first come, first served basis according to arrival of completed registration and payment (when applicable).
Exhibitor registration deadline is Monday, August 27, 2012.

(Lawrence, Kan.) - The City of Lawrence Waste Reduction and Recycling Division and the non-profit American Solar Energy Society (ASES) are recruiting energy efficient homes and businesses for the 2012 Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour. The tour will occur on Saturday, September 22nd in conjunction with the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair. Organizers are currently seeking energy-savvy Lawrence businesses, public agencies and homeowners to participate in the tour.
The annual event is a cascade of open house tours across the U.S. that showcases the energy-efficiency and solar energy solutions people are using to cut energy costs, improve property values and take advantage of government incentives.
Up to eight homes and businesses with a range of sustainable features will be included on the Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour. Two tours, a morning and an afternoon tour, will occur on the event day and host approximately 100 persons total. Buildings selected for the tour should demonstrate energy-saving techniques and sustainability through design, efficient appliances, and use of green materials during remodeling. Preference will be given to sites within Lawrence city limits and sites that are not for sale. Preferred building features include solar electric, passive solar, solar hot water, energy efficiency installations or other resource conservation measures. Construction should be complete or nearly complete at the time of the tour.
Homeowners and businesses interested in having their building featured in the Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour can submit an online application at http://www.lawrenceks.org/wrr/energyfair.
Entry Deadline: Applications for buildings must be submitted by Monday, August 13, 2012.
