Intersection of 19th and Harper Streets closed due to water main leak
(Lawrence, Kan.) – The intersection of 19th and Harper Streets has been closed due to a water main break. A detour will be in place to direct traffic around the closure via Edgelea. Utilities crews are on site to repair the break. Repair of the line is expected to take approximately 8 hours. Due to the size of the break and the disruption to the street, the street is not expected to reopen until Wednesday when street repairs can be completed. The 12-inch line was reported at approximately 9:45 a.m. this morning. Residents will be notified of any water disruption while the repair is being made including customers east of Harper on 19th Street. Access to the Douglas County Fairgrounds has not been disrupted.
