Volunteers needed to coach girls volleyball
(Lawrence, Kan.) - Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department needs coaches for its 4th and 5th grade volleyball program, as well as the middle school intramural volleyball program co-sponsored by Lawrence Public Schools.
The 4th/5th grade volleyball program runs from the middle of September through late October. Coaches will need to plan practices, approximately 1 ½ hours a week which will begin September 10, with games held on Sundays, Sept. 16 – Oct. 21. All practices will be held at the East Lawrence Center. All games will be played at Holcom Recreation Center.
The Girl’s Intramural Volleyball program for 6th, 7th and 8th graders runs from mid-September through Oct. 6. Practices will start September 10 and will be held at Lawrence public middle schools. The schedule may vary from week to week depending upon after-school programming. Match play will be held on the following Saturdays: Sept. 22, Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.
All Parks and Recreation volunteer coaches must pass a background check.
