Water main break on 23rd closes one lane of traffic

(Lawrence, Kan.) – The north lane of west bound 23rd Street between Louisiana and Alabama will be closed for several hours this evening as Utilities crews repair a water main break. Traffic control devices will be set up to divert traffic to the inner westbound lane of 23rd Street. Businesses on the north side of 23rd Street between Louisiana and Alabama and several on the south side will be without water while repairs are being completed. Utilities crews have notified all affected customers and are on site while locates are completed. The water main is an 8-inch cast iron pipe installed in 1954.
