Water main repair on 19th Street closes west bound lane of traffic through tomorrow

(Lawrence, Kan.) – The westbound lane of 19th Street between Maple Lane and Haskell will be closed through tomorrow as Utilities crews repair a water main. Traffic control devices are set up to detour west bound traffic only. The eastbound lane is open. The detour will take west bound traffic right at Maple Lane to a right on E. Glenn Drive, then left at Cadet Avenue and left at E. 15th Street to Haskell Avenue. Drivers wishing to continue west on 19th Street can then follow Haskell Ave back to 19th Street and turn right. Utilities crews have notified all affected customers.

The water main is a 6-inch cast iron pipe installed in 1958.
