Nature Center to host bird watching class

Nature Center to host bird watching class
 
(Lawrence, Kan.) – Have you ever wondered what type of bird is flying around in your yard?  Come to Bird Watching Basics 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.
 
This class will teach the basics of bird identification, learning the best birding locations and choosing a field guide and binoculars, all while being helped by an expert birder!
 
The class is open to anyone ages 16 years-old or older. The fee is $10.
 
Registration for bird watching can be done online at www.lprd.org or by visiting any Parks and Recreation facility including: Prairie Park Nature Center; the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, the Community Building, 115. West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St. or the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
