FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
K-10/23rd Street Bridge GOOD NEWS!
(LAWRENCE KAN.) - By early evening, TODAY, Wednesday, October 24, both eastbound and westbound K-10/23rd Street from Haskell Avenue to Barker Avenue will be shifted from the existing north/south shoofly detours onto the new K-10/23rd Street Bridge.
For now, there will be two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane across the new bridge as project work continues. Crews will now begin work to remove the existing shooflys and complete work on the frontage roads on either side of the new bridge.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
Project work on the frontage roads and other incidental items is scheduled to be completed mid-summer 2013, weather permitting. (KDOT T-WORKS Project #10-23 KA 0685-01)
