Turkey Trot entries being accepted
LAWRENCE- Don’t retire those running shoes for the winter quite yet! Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its annual Turkey Trot, 5K run/walk, at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University, 155 Indian Ave.
The race is open to all ages. The entry fee is $20 prior to the race and $25 on the day of the race. Day-of-race entries will be accepted from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. onsite.
Division winners will receive a turkey from Checkers, 2300 Louisiana St. and overall male and female top finishers will take home a $50 gift certificate from Jock’s Nitch Sporting Goods, 837 Massachusetts St. Those who enroll early will receive a Turkey Trot 5K t-shirt.
Registration for the Turkey Trot can be done online at www.lprd.org or by visiting any Parks and Recreation facility including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. or the Administrative Office in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
