Public meeting set to discuss potential new recreation center
(Lawrence, Kan.) – The City of Lawrence will hold a public meeting 7- 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Free State High School Commons, 4700 Overland Drive. At the meeting, residents and those interested in the project will have a chance to further discuss the potential for a proposed regional recreation center.
City staff has prepared a comparison of two potential sites for a recreation center. A site proposed by the University of Kansas and a site on City-owned property near Overland Drive and Wakarusa Drive.
The City Commission is scheduled to further consider this issue at their Tuesday, Nov. 13, Commission meeting.
