CANDY CANE HUNT SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY
(LAWRENCE, KAN.) – Space remains in Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Candy Cane Hunt being held 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.
 
The hunt is open to children six years-old and younger. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29. Cost is $3. After the hunt, participants will be served hot chocolate and cookies. Plus, a special holiday guest from the North Pole will also visit with participants.

HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA TO BE HELD SATURDAY
(LAWRENCE, KAN.) – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Holiday Extravaganza will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the 4-H Fairgrounds Building #21, 2120 Harper St. The event is free and open to the public.
 
The Holiday Extravaganza features commercial and non-commercial artwork produced by local and regional artists.

GYMNASTICS OPEN GYM FRIDAY
(LAWRENCE, KAN.) – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering Gymnastics Open Gym for children at the East Lawrence Recreation Center, Gymnastics Room, 1245 E. 15th St.
  
Open Gym is open to children 6 years-old to 12 years-old 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. During Open Gym, children can work on the bars, beams, tumble track and ropes. Play will be unstructured, but supervised. No registration is required but a parent/guardian needs to sign them in at the door.  The fee is $5 per child. Exact payment is required at the door.
