Snow Update: City prepping for snow event Monday morning
(Lawrence, Kan.) - The City of Lawrence street maintenance crews will be on duty starting at 4 a.m. Monday morning in preparation of a morning snow event that is forecasted to drop approximately one-inch of snow in Lawrence. The snow is forecasted to begin falling around 5 a.m. Another band of snow is expected to bring another one-inch of snow later in the afternoon, around 3 p.m.
Street maintenance crews have alreayd pre-treated the pavement and will start sand/salt operations on Monday morning.
"As always, we recommend to motorists to slow down and allow extra time when driving in winter weather," said Mark Thiel, assistant public works director.
