All Parks and Recreation facilities closed, activities and programs cancelled through 5 p.m. Tuesday

All Parks and Recreation facilities closed, activities and programs cancelled through 5 p.m. Tuesday

(Lawrence, Kan.) – With the current winter storm warning, Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all of tonight’s classes, programs, practices and sports-related activities, as well as all programming through 5 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 25, except for aquatic classes, which have been canceled this evening and all day Tuesday.

All recreation facilities will close at 5 p.m. today through 5 p.m. Tuesday, except for the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, which will close all day tomorrow. A decision on whether to open the recreation facilities and have evening programs tomorrow will be made by 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. 

This includes: East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center; 2700 W. 27th St., the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., Carl Knox Natatorium, 1901 Louisiana St., Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. and Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center, 1250 E. 902 Rd.  

All facilities used as voting cites will remain open for voting only, as scheduled.

The Administrative Offices in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St., will be open as scheduled Tuesday.
